Technical Sales Specialist – Mexico
COMPANY: Rain Bird Mexico
REPORTS TO: Services Manager
WORK LOCATION: Mexico
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for profitably growing service sales in irrigation applications in Mexico. This person will work effectively at various customer levels to educate, justify and successfully sell customized irrigation systems (services & related products) to new and existing customers. Person is a “solutions based” sales representative, capable of analyzing irrigation systems (field work), preparing & presenting sales solutions and managing projects. Position will also be responsible for sourcing and managing service providers as well as providing after-sales technical support.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Achieving sales goals
- Sales calls and lead generation
- Technical field work
- Preparing and presenting customized proposals to a variety of customers (golf course owners, consultants, contractors, developers, superintendents).
- Project management
- Technical support and after-sales service
- Sourcing and management of service providers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or BS degree
- 5 years successful sales or territory sales management experience
- Strong technical aptitude
- Fluency in Spanish and English (excellent verbal and written communication skills)
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to achieve results independently and with/through others
- Working knowledge of personal computers and commonly used business software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Based in Guadalajara, Mexico and willing to travel approximately 50% of time in Mexico
- Service and project management experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Industrial technical/engineering sales experience
- MBA or MSC degree
- Strong desire to advance into Management
- Working knowledge of irrigation design, installation, repair and product application

General Manager – Rain Bird Mexico
COMPANY: Rain Bird Mexico
REPORTS TO: International Business Manager – The Americas
WORK LOCATION: Mexico
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The General Manager of Rain Bird Mexico is both the leader and the manager of the business entity. This person will be responsible for achieving sales and market share growth objectives and ensuring smooth and profitable operations. This person will hire and coach staff effectively to best support growth objectives and provide high customer service standards.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Setting, implementing and executing strategic business plan
- Achieving sales and market share goals
- Achieving the subsidiary’s P&L, budget and margin targets
- Managing effectiveness of operations: customer service, import/export, inventory level and accuracy, purchasing, A/P & A/R, credit, IS.
- Identifying, prioritizing and pursuing business opportunities throughout the country
- Distribution management
- Personnel management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or BS degree
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in sales, operations or general management with a proven track record of success (including personnel management)
- P&L experience
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong leadership skills (ability to train, motivate and develop a team)
- Fluency in English and Spanish (excellent verbal and written communication skills)
- Computer skills including working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Willingness and ability to travel at least 30% of time in country
- Live within Guadalajara, Mexico
- Highly energetic and motivated person with an ambition to succeed
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA degree
- International business experience
- Irrigation experience including design and installation
- 4+ years experience with wholesale distribution
